The Morning After: In Perspective

In Perspective
by: Brent Trotter

I’m supposed to be channeling this passion and emotion onto paper aren’t I?
(That’s how it works right?)

You have some real experiences that change you,
and turn your world upside down.
They change what you like.
They change who you love.
They change who you are and who you want to be.

Then you write em down, record it.
Sing it. Play It. Express It. Dissect It. Advertise It.

(That’s how it works right?)

I’m supposed to be harnessing this energy into the fuel for my spaceship.
(But maybe I’m okay where I am, and I don’t want to take that trip to the moon).

No. Naaay to that!

‘Content’ is for underachievers.
Holding back ANY part of your self is for cowards.
You’re either gonna hold em’ or fold em’. Play ball or go back inside.
None of that middle ground crap.

(That’s how it supposed to work right?)

Yeah...Now you got it.
