On My Medulla: Thrill Seeking

I'm finally back from vacationing in the Bahamas and Orlando. It was a nice family getaway to say the least. However, the entire time, I couldn't quite place my finger on it, but something was missing...

I remember a time in particular when we were on the ship where I woke up, and I went to check my phone and it read, "October 17, 1999", and the time was around 7 a.m in the morning. Although it was clearly evening. My cousins phone read October 17, 2099, which was really strange because her phone was the only one who saw things that way. Suits her.. ;)

So I texted a friend of mine back home and asked if we were possibly passing over the Bermuda Triangle (gasp) because weird stuff happens in that area as the legend tells us. She told me my notion was correct as we were in the Atlantic heading toward the Bahamas.

Now the Bermuda Triangle is rumored to be this mysterious place in the ocean where these mystical occurrences have taken place. Submarines, surface vessels and even planes have disappeared upon passing through this region of the vast Atlantic. (I'm still not sure if we actually were passing over it, because someone should have told us that.)

Anyways, this story in particular stands out to me: (source: Wikipedia)

The Mysterious Disappearance of the USS Cyclops

Soooo naturally, when I hear the OUR ship may be passing over the Bermuda triangle on our way to the Bahamas, I get..excited? That makes a boatload of sense, right?

Then I started to get all these ideas of crazy "fun" things that would make this vacation into the beginnings of a J.J Abrahams movie script and hence instantaneously amazing by association.

What if we were attacked by a pirate ship? (Obama would handle that with the quickness)

What if we woke up in our staterooms and the ship was empty? (Sounds like an ocean liner version of Lost)

What if we hit a frikin' iceberg? (Titanic II?!)

And so I started to realize how much I just wanted something crazy or adventurous to happen whether dangerous, raunchy or even terrifying. Ever since then, I've been searching for thrills. The roller coasters at Seaworld just didn't cut it. :(

After the vacation's end, (Miami for a night, 3 day cruise to the Bahamas, Orlando for a week with Disney, Seaworld and Busch Gardens) I think I finally found what was missing.

1 tablespoon of "danger"
1/2 cup of "mystery"
1/2 cup of "uncertainty"
2 teaspoons of "sexy" (w/ a shot of vodka)*
A splash of "the unexpected"

A perfect recipe for an exquisite adventure.
