Without Further Ado...

I’m back!!

Not like I really went anywhere, but you get the point.

Now that it’s summer, it’s finally time to start writing at least relatively consistently, both for personal and professional reasons.

Anyway, today I returned to the ghost town also known as Champaign-Urbana for the summer.

I say that but, I can’t say I’m not anticipating some fun times this summer. Last summer was great here in C-U. I met a lot of great people, got into good shape (looking forward to that again this summer—and keeping it up), got into a little bit of trouble, and learned a lot of economics. I digress…

I boarded the bus and took a seat by wonderful young lady who I now know as Anastasia. She’s from Dallas, TX. Tall, dark hair, beautiful eyes, and most importantly, there was something so open and refreshing about her personality. (No, I didn’t make a move on her if you think that’s where this is going, but we're gonna keep in touch.)

We talked virtually the entire ride. About movies, (she’s an actress, which is pretty cool), about traveling (we’re both obsessed w/ Cali, even though I’ve never been), about bratty kids, Sarah Palin, superpowers, etc. The list goes on.

When we talked about traveling I couldn’t help but get butterflies thinking about how much I love the idea being completely on your own; going somewhere completely foreign where you don’t know what to expect. Somewhere mystifying, and living it like an R.L. Stine choose your own adventure book.

(Those were the best)

Something about the ride was so scintillating. It felt like the opening scene to a good movie.

Let’s just say, I’m eager about summer. Earlier today, I took some time to take a few steps back and look at where I’ve gone and where I’ve come from. And at 3:13am in the morning, I’m going to declare this...The past is past and I’m looking for some new adventures starting today.

Anybody wanna come with me?
